Description

The Imperial Hotel on Gloddaeth Crescent is a five-storey building with an attic and basement, featuring 20th-century additions. It has four bays, with the left bay being wider and having floors at different levels. The parade elevation showcases four pedimented gables, with the left gable containing an oculus. In this bay, there are three paired sash windows on both the fourth and third floors, while the second floor has a single round-headed window flanked by paired round-headed windows. The first floor features a central window and two bow windows that descend to the basement level. The other bays each have pediments with a round-headed window, adorned with keystones and swags. Below these gables, there are three paired sash windows on both the fourth and third floors, and to the right, there are two paired light sashes with pilasters and an entablature. A modern glazed verandah is present on the ground floor.

The Vaughan Street elevation mirrors this style and consists of seven bays in total. The corner block has three two-window bays with a central semi-circular pediment flanked by triangular pediments. The doorway in the centre bay features paired columns leading to a porch. To the left, there are an additional three bays with a central semi-elliptical bay window flanked by bow windows, and a doorway to the left that has a Venetian derivative design with flanking columns. The bay at the extreme left has a hipped slate roof with a pedimented attic dormer containing a pair of windows. The top floor has four windows with paired round-headed windows on the floor below, while the first floor features a broad shallow bay window that descends to the basement level.

The property is enclosed by a low stuccoed forecourt wall with a balustraded parapet and stuccoed piers topped with lamps. Inside, the public rooms are decorated with good Baroque style detailing.
