Description

The incline drumhouse at Middle Bank is a late 19th-century structure built from snecked rubble. It features a mid-20th century concrete slab roof. Inside, the oak drum and steel cables are still in place, situated between two thick gable walls. The external brake mechanism is also intact, although it is missing its lever. This drumhouse appears to be one of those depicted on the 1888 Ordnance Survey map.
