Description
The Pigeon-house and Stable Block at Bronheulog is a small building with a rectangular plan, dating from the 19th century. It features a storeyed and gabled main section, a flush lower section at right angles to the left, and a later lean-to addition on the right. The construction is of whitened rubble with a recently renewed small-slate roof.
The main gabled section has an entrance and a window to the right, both set within round-arched niches that have rough-dressed voussoirs. The entrance has a boarded door and the window is grilled. Above this, there are two unglazed segmental openings and an oculus at the apex of the gable. A squat brick chimney, which is unwhitened, is located at the rear and features weather-coursing and capping.
To the left, the flush section includes a shallow segmentally-arched entrance with a boarded door and a 2-light open window to the right, both having similar heads. There is modern external stepped access leading to an upper entrance on the left gable, which mirrors the design of the lower entrance. The lean-to on the right has a wire-grilled window and a boarded stable entrance beyond, both with exposed timber lintels.
