Description
60 and 62 Rhos Road are a pair of cottages built in 1853, believed to be linked to the development of the quarry at Llys Euryn. They are constructed from roughly coursed and squared stone with slate roofs that have a pronounced overhang and a central stack set diagonally. The cottages are two storeys high and symmetrically designed, featuring a wide central gable with entrances on either side. The doorways originally had small porch gables supported by struts and chamfered timber posts bracing the apex. This original porch is still present on No 60, while No 62 has a similarly sized replacement. In the gable, there are 3-light mullioned and transomed windows on the ground floor and 2-light casements above, all with lattice glazing. The date of construction is marked on an inset stone at the gable apex.
