Description
The former cowhouse at Bryn Nantllech is a five-bay structure dating from 1793, featuring a catslide roof over a lean-to addition on the southeast end and a small flat-roofed addition on the northwest end. It is constructed of rubble masonry and has a slate roof with a tiled ridge. The entrance elevation faces the yard and the house to the northeast, with three doorways: one on the far left leading to the lean-to addition, one offset to the left, and one to the right. Between these doorways are two modern timber casement windows, with the left window located in a partly blocked doorway. All openings are topped with timber lintels. Additionally, there is a doorway and window in the flat-roofed addition at the northwest corner. A ventilation slit is present in the apex of the left gable return, and there is a pitching door in the apex of the right gable return.
Inside, the roof is exposed and consists of five bays supported by roughly chamfered queen post trusses with angled braces. The truss to the right of the entrance bears the incised date of 1793, and there are slate partitions at the southeast end.
