Description
The lofted bakehouse at Crafnant is a small structure built from coursed mortared rubble, featuring large stones used as quoins and lintels. The roof is made of profiled sheeting and has stone slab copings. There is a lean-to addition made of rubble masonry with a slate roof on the southwest side.
The main elevation faces the other farm buildings in the yard to the northwest. It has a single doorway on the right and a window on the left, which has a weathered inscribed stone above the lintel that shows the date 1818 along with the initials O over I E. There is a small window on the opposite wall. Access to the loft is provided by an external flight of stone stairs leading up to the southeast gable, where the entrance is on the left and a small window is on the right. The lean-to can be accessed through doorways on the northwest side.
