Crafnant

Crafnant is a two-storey house, built with a rendered stone exterior and a slate roof, situated on a downhill site and aligned roughly northwest to southeast. The building features tall rubble stone stacks with dripstones and capping that mark the extent of the original house. The layout consists of a two-unit plan with the main entrance located to the right of center, accessed through a gabled porch. The windows are all modern, with those on the first floor positioned beneath dormer gables.

At the rear, there is a later single bay extension that continues the slope of the main roof. An additional bay, which originally served as a dairy and granary, is attached to the upper gable end of the house. This bay has a loft entry to the first floor and features small, misaligned windows. It extends as a wing at the back of the house, connecting it to the 'tyddyn traean'. This wing is constructed of exposed rubble stone and also has a slate roof, with a doorway and a single window located beneath the eaves.

Although not inspected during the latest survey, previous records by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW) noted that the main house retained its cross passage plan, which included a hall at the upper end and a likely heated parlour at the lower end, converted from two small service rooms. The surviving hall partition was made of 18th-century raised fielded panelling, with a section of the original post and panel partition still visible beneath the stairs. The original stone staircase, which was located beside the hall fireplace, had been removed, possibly to allow direct access to the dairy and granary.
