Description
This is a lofted stable and haybarn, built in a T-shaped plan with the stables forming the head of the "T" to the northwest. The structure is made of coursed boulder construction and has a roof of profiled sheeting, although it still features stone slab copings.
On the left end of the main block are the lofted stables, which face southeast. The main entrance is to the right, with a single window to the left and a loft window located under the eaves above. Access to the loft is through a doorway in the left (southwest) gable, which is reached by an external flight of stone stairs. To the right of the main doorway, there is another window, and possibly a blocked doorway that is difficult to see due to obstruction. This may have been a second stable unit that was partially blocked when the haybarn was built in front of the range. The haybarn features two wide open bays in the southwest wall, although the right bay is now blocked. At the right end of the main range, beyond the haybarn, is an additional stable unit with a doorway at the far right (northeast) and a single window to the left.
The roof of the building retains rough collared trusses and purlins.
