Outbuilding (former cart-shed), E side of farmyard, Ty'n y Wern

This is a lofted 4-bay former cart-shed located on the east side of the farmyard at Ty'n y Wern. It is built from rubble stone, which may have originally been lime-washed, and features a slate roof. The structure has square piers made of large blocks of dressed limestone, which support wide elliptical brick arches. The left arch has been infilled with wooden glazing. Above these arches, the loft includes four windows with cambered brick heads and pecked stone sills, fitted with renewed 2-light wooden casements. The right window was previously a door, now infilled with stone beneath the sill.

The north gable end features a boarded loft door under a segmental brick head, accessible by external stone steps. There is also an arched opening for a kennel in the front face of the staircase projection. The rear side, which is partly visible, has small unglazed openings leading to the loft. Attached to the south gable end is a lower bay constructed of rubble stone, also under a slate roof, which has a wide full-height opening at the front. The south gable end includes a boarded door to the left and a latticed loft hatch set into a brick panel. The interior has not been seen.
