Description

The former weighbridge hut is a small rectangular booth built in the late 19th century or early 20th century, constructed entirely of slate. The entrance is located on the left, with a counter window immediately to the right; both the door and glazing are missing. There is a plain small chimney on the right gable end. The interior is simple and currently lacks any weighing apparatus. This building is included for its group value with the nearby incline drumhouse and chimney at Maenofferen, which is an exceptionally complete example of a slate quarry level.
