Description
Plas Gywair is a two-storey Georgian rectory, roughly square in shape, with a storeyed wing at the rear corner on the south side. It is constructed of rubble masonry, with the main section facing northwest overlooking the lake featuring roughly coursed stonework and large stones used as quoins and lintels. The building has a shallow pitched hipped slate roof with extended eaves and verges, and large stone chimneys complete with dripstones and capping.
The front elevation consists of a two-window arrangement with 16-pane hornless sash windows, while the first-floor windows are positioned under gabled half dormers. Similar windows can be found on the lateral walls. The entrance is located at the right end of the rear wall, sheltered by a modern single-pitched porch that has lancet windows on each side. The rear elevation displays a variety of window styles, including a small paned sash above the porch, a round-headed leaded light stair window, and several modern timber casements.
The interior was not accessible during the survey, but the current owner reports that it has undergone significant alterations in recent years.
