Description

Pont y Cwrt is a stone rubble bridge featuring a single well-formed segmental arch made of shaped voussoirs. The arch begins from slightly outset springers at water level and rises to a height of approximately 2.2 meters at the center, where there is a dropped central keystone. The span of the arch measures 6.7 meters. The bridge has flush spandrels and a square string course at the base of the parapet. The parapet is constructed from squared rubble in unusually long pieces and is topped with rough-hewn slate slabs. It slopes down from the north to the south. The bridge has wide battered abutments, a carriageway that is 4.45 meters wide, and parapets that are each 55 centimeters high.
