Description
The walled garden at Glyn Cywarch features walls made of mortared rubble masonry, incorporating various materials, and standing between 2 to 2.5 meters high. The main entrance is located at the northwest corner, accessed through a wrought iron gate mounted on stone pillars made from a single stone with an integral ball finial. Steps lead down from the terrace into the garden. Additional entrances can be found in the east corner from the gatehouse courtyard, in the northwest wall from the glass house area, and at the end of the central path leading to the tennis court in the southwest.
Surrounding the entrance in the east corner are several buildings. At the easternmost end of the northeast wall, there is a two-storey building constructed of mortared rubble masonry with a slate roof featuring advanced eaves. This building consists of two parts; the left part (northwest) serves as a store with a single doorway and a small two-paned light offset to the left, along with blocked windows on the rear elevation. The right part was likely used as a bothy, featuring ground and first-floor windows, with the upper floor showcasing a 12-pane light set in a gable dormer that interrupts the eaves line. Access to this part is through the stable wing of the gatehouse range.
