Description

Single storey cottage with attached byre to uphill side. Cottage and byre in stone, with painted front. Cottage has slate roof, and square stone chimney to L. Roughly central doorway with modern porch; the boarded and ledged door has long strap hinges to interior. To each side, a square 4-pane sash window. Byre, on uphill side has higher roofline; corrugated roof covering, two boarded doors.

Inside the house, the roof has been ceiled, no timbers are visible. There is a modern (1960s?) fireplace; the doors to the flanking cupboards appear late C19. The house is divided by a wooden partition with machine sawn timbers and iron bolts. There are no windows to the rear. The byre has a single rough roof truss with bolted joints, the other timbers are recent and support the corrugated roof.
