Description
Ty'n y Ffridd is a single-storey cottage with an attached byre on the uphill side. Both the cottage and byre are constructed from stone, with the front of the cottage painted. The cottage features a slate roof and a square stone chimney on the left side. There is a roughly central doorway with a modern porch; the boarded and ledged door is fitted with long strap hinges on the interior. On either side of the door, there are square four-pane sash windows. The byre, located on the uphill side, has a higher roofline covered with corrugated material and features two boarded doors.
Inside the cottage, the roof has been ceiled, so no timbers are visible. There is a modern fireplace that appears to date from the 1960s, and the doors to the cupboards on either side seem to be from the late 19th century. The interior is divided by a wooden partition made from machine-sawn timbers and secured with iron bolts. There are no windows at the rear of the cottage. The byre contains a single rough roof truss with bolted joints, while the other timbers are more recent and support the corrugated roof.
