Description
3 Station Road, also known as Ty'n Ddol, is part of a two-storey terrace consisting of four one-window cottages arranged as reflected pairs. The cottages are built from roughly-coursed slatestone rubble and feature a continuous, medium-pitched slate roof with two shared chimneys, which were rebuilt in brick in the second half of the 20th century. Each cottage has a large, three-part window on the ground floor and a two-part window on the first floor, although the windows for numbers 2 and 3 are not aligned. The windows have segmental arches made of buff stock brick and retain their original casements, with three panes for the ground-floor windows and two panes for the first-floor windows.
The entrances are located at the outer sides for numbers 1 and 4, while numbers 2 and 3 have paired entrances in the center, all featuring steep Tudor arches made of brick. Numbers 3 and 4 still have their original vertically-projecting panelled doors, while numbers 1 and 2 have modern doors that do not match the character of the cottages, with the door for number 1 being glazed. Additionally, number 1 has a rendered gable end with two cambered stair windows that ascend from left to right. The interior was not inspected during the survey. This building is part of a group of four cottages.
