Description
Tyn-y-Llwyn is a storied farmhouse built in the third quarter of the 17th century, featuring an L-shaped design and some cosmetic alterations from the second quarter of the 18th century. The structure is made of coursed, rough-dressed rubble and is set into the gentle slope of the hill to the west, where it has been rock-cut. It has a slate roof with rubble kneelered gable parapets and tall chimneys that have moulded capping and weather-coursing.
The near-centre entrance features a 19th-century boarded door with re-used ironwork hinges. There are flanking 4-pane early 20th-century casement windows, along with three additional similar windows located under the eaves. The rear arm of the farmhouse, which has a rubble parapet and chimney similar to the front, is in a ruinous condition.
Although this building was not inspected during the survey in March 1995, it is believed to retain a good 18th-century dog-leg stair, contemporary panelled doors, and post-and-partition screens.
