Description
The Cartshed at Creigiau Duon is a lofted structure built from mortared rubble masonry, topped with a slate roof. An external flight of slate and stone steps leads up to the loft door located in the eastern gable apex. Attached to the southern wall of the steps is a single-storey outshot, which has a doorway offset to the right (north). At the left (south) end of the range, there is a wide cart bay featuring a long stone lintel that has been partially blocked with brick; this area now includes a boarded stable door to the right and a modern casement window to the left. To the right of this is an open-fronted cartshed or storage area, consisting of two bays supported by a central stone pillar. The interior was not inspected during the survey conducted in June and July 2003.
