Description
The agricultural range at Cilcennus is an L-shaped structure that stands one-and-a-half stories tall. It is built from rubble with old slate roofs, some of which have been patched with corrugated iron. On the west side, there is external stone-stepped access to the first floor leading to the yard, featuring a gabled dormer entrance with a boarded door that has fallen, along with a ground floor entrance below. The ground floor has flanking windows with steel-framed glazing. There is a square, open window on the south gable, and to the west, there is a long, derelict 19th-century catslide-roofed lean-to.
The north range has similar external upper access, with an entrance on the left and a window on the right, as previously described. The primary barn section on the right has a central entrance, a square window with a boarded shutter to the left, and another window to the right. Additionally, there is a later 19th-century bay that adjoins the east end of the north range, featuring a central entrance flanked by windows.
