Description

Glanmachlas is a house dating from the 18th century, constructed of rock-faced stone with a slate roof. The main body of the house is a long range running southwest to northeast, extended by a single-bay lower block, and a cross wing of equal height at the southwest end. A porch is situated in the re-entrant angle between the main range and the cross wing; it has a gabled design and is open to the approach pathway, featuring a glazed door in a Gothic style. The windows are timber, with three lights, mullions, and transoms, set under expressed lintels of a light-coloured stone, and with sills of the same material. Buff brick stacks are present. A later 19th-century building is attached to the rear of the cross wing, projecting into the yard. The rear entrance is located opposite the front door in the cross wing, and a secondary service entrance is within the single-bay extension to the main range.
