Danw Deg

Nos 1 and 2 Danw Deg are two storeyed village houses built in the second quarter or mid-19th century. They are constructed of rubble with a stuccoed front and a slate roof, featuring squat, plain end chimneys and a similar central chimney. The main section, which is No. 1 on the right, has three bays and a central entrance that includes a late 19th century or early 20th century single-storey gabled porch. The entrance features a 4-panel recessed main door with a rectangular overlight. Both floors have recessed 16-pane sash windows with projecting slate cills. On the left, No. 2 is a flush 2-bay unit with a shallow gable at the front, which has modern bargeboards. It has a boarded modern door with a rectangular overlight to the right, and similar sashes on the ground and first floors to the left, along with a smaller 4-pane attic window in the gable apex. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey in March 1997.
