Description
Nos 1 and 2 Danw Deg are two storeyed village houses built in the second quarter or mid 19th century. They are constructed of rubble with a stuccoed front and a slate roof, featuring squat, plain end chimneys and a similar central chimney. The main section, which is No.1 on the right, has three bays and a central entrance that includes a late 19th century or early 20th century single-storey gabled porch. The main door is a recessed 4-panel design with a rectangular overlight above it. Both floors of No.1 have recessed 16-pane sash windows with projecting slate cills. To the left, No.2 is a flush 2-bay unit with a shallow gable at the front and modern bargeboards. It has a boarded modern door with a rectangular overlight to the right, and similar sash windows on both the ground and first floors to the left, along with a smaller 4-pane attic window in the gable apex. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey in March 1997.
