Description
The garage at Helyg is a single-storey structure with a rectangular plan, built from large coursed rubble stone masonry. It features a slate roof with gable coping stones. The east elevation has a wide entrance supported by buttressed piers, which hold up a projecting slate pentice on corbels. The entrance is fitted with double timber sliding doors that have overlights with cast iron bars. The corners of the building are buttressed and include kneelers and overhanging eaves. The long north and south walls each have three deep-set windows with projecting sills, featuring tripartite bottom-hinged timber casements behind cast iron bars. The west wall is plain.
Inside, the garage has an open space with a timber roof supported by closely spaced rafters on girder truss purlins with ties. The windows have timber lintels, and there is a small safe to the right of the door. The floor is made of rough hard-packed material.
