Description
Cemlyn Cottage is a single-storey building that was raised to one and a half storeys at the front in the 19th century. The cottage features rubble masonry that has been whitewashed, while the quoins are rendered and whitewashed with cement. The roofs are moderately pitched with slate on the front, and the pitch is daubed on Cemlyn Cottage, both having plain eaves and close verges. The rear maintains its original steep pitch. All the chimneys are made of 19th-century brick.
The cottage has timber gablets over the loft windows, with three on Cemlyn House and one on the cottage. It features bargeboards and Victorian sash windows. The doorway is positioned to the right of centre on Cemlyn House and consists of a six-panel door, with Victorian sash windows on either side, all set beneath stone lintels. There is a small buttery window to the extreme left, also with a stone lintel.
Cemlyn Cottage has a closed gabled porch, with a four-pane fixed window at the front and an entry on the side. There is a Victorian sash window to the right. A cobbled apron extends in front of both houses, leading to the roadway.
