Tawelfa

Tawelfa is an asymmetric pair of three-storey, two-window houses built with rubble masonry. They feature a gently pitched quarry slate roof with plain eaves and close verges. The houses have stone stacks, with a smaller stack on the right and a further lateral stack at the rear of Tan Rhiw, along with water tabling.

On the second floor, the windows have been raised into four gablets in the later 19th century, with stone cheeks and plain bargeboards. The upper sash of the Victorian sash windows is painted. There are four Victorian sash windows on the first floor, each with stone lintels. The houses have similar windows on the left side, with a cellar opening below Tawelfa. The doorways are located to the right, featuring four-panel doors with the upper portion glazed, and slate hoods supported by slender iron piers at Tawelfa, while brackets are used for Tan Rhiw. There are small buttery windows at the extreme left and right, also with stone lintels. Tawelfa has a two-pane casement window, while Tan Rhiw features a four-pane, two-light casement window.
