Description

Cefn-y-wern is a short terrace of four 3-storey, 2-bay town houses located at 30-33 High Street. These houses date from the 19th century and feature scribed roughcast fronts painted in different colours, topped with a slate roof and two brick stacks. The buildings are arranged as two reflected pairs, with entrances on the outer sides of each pair. Nos 30 and 31 have half-glazed panel doors, while No 32 has a replaced door and No 33 has a panel door with only the upper two panels moulded. The lower storey includes canted bay windows, primarily with 4-pane sashes, although Nos 32 and 33 have 2-pane sashes. Notably, No 33 features a 2-storey bay window. Other windows are segmental-headed 4-pane horned sashes, with shorter versions in the upper storey.

Each forecourt has dwarf walls; Nos 30 and 31 have roughcast and painted walls, while Nos 32 and 33 feature rubble stone with slate coping. The forecourts are also adorned with railings that have spear finials and original iron gates.

The rear elevation is roughcast, featuring 4-pane sashes and some replacement windows. Nos 30 and 31 retain original short 2-storey wings, while Nos 32 and 33 have extended rear wings. The property has not been inspected.
