Description
New Dock is a quay constructed from finely jointed large Anglesey limestone blocks, secured with iron cramps. The inner basin of the dock curves towards its southern end and features a breakwater at the north-eastern end that curves inward to protect the entrance to the harbour. There are two 19th-century cranes located on the dock: one at the southern end of the inner basin and the other on the western side of the main quay. Additionally, there are numerous bollards made of both stone, which are the earlier type, and cast iron, used to secure vessels along the western side of the main quay and around the inner basin.
