Description
Cristin is a pair of semi-detached farmhouses dating from the 18th century. They are constructed from whitewashed rendered rubble stone and feature steep slate roofs with three brick ridge stacks. The buildings are one and a half storeys high and have a four-window southwest front, with crosswings projecting at each end and lean-to porches at the angles. The windows are small-paned and include mullions and transoms, although some have been altered. The outer gables have a square two-light window on the first floor and a large three-light window below. The porches have plain openings at the front and ledged doors leading into the crosswings. The center section has no first-floor windows but features two two-light windows on the ground floor. The end gables have similar square windows above and three-light windows below. The rear of the farmhouses is made of rubble stone and includes two lean-to porches and two two-light windows in the center.
The interiors of the farmhouses have seen little alteration and feature tiled and timber floors, four-panel doors leading to the front rooms, a slate fireplace in the parlour, and stairs with turned balusters at the rear.
