Description
Ty Pellaf and Rhedynog Goch are a pair of semi-detached farmhouses dating from the 18th century. The southwest front and side walls are finished with whitewashed render, while the rear is constructed of rubble stone. The houses feature steep slate roofs with close eaves, slate gable copings, and three red brick ridge stacks, with the central stack being axial.
The buildings are one and a half storeys tall and have an H-plan layout, with porches located centrally on the outer sides of the crosswings. The windows are small paned, featuring thicker mullions and transoms, some of which have been altered. Originally, the windows had one small opening sash. The front of the houses has smaller two-light windows in the gables, larger three-light windows below, and two similar two-light windows in the recessed centre. Each side has a large steep-gabled porch with an entry facing southwest, a small light in the gable wall, and ledged doors inside. There is a large three-light window towards the rear from each porch.
The rear of the houses is made of rubble stone and includes two-light windows in each gable at the first floor, a recessed centre with two similar windows, and lean-to porches on each side, positioned at the angles to the crosswings. The porches have opposed entries and ledged doors inside. The windows are framed with brick sides and stone lintels.
The buildings are noted to have old ranges, slate dairy slabs, and iron grates, as mentioned in the 1974 listing.
