Description
Nos 3 and 4 Tan y Bwlch in Llandygai are a pair of single-storey quarryman's cottages, each featuring a two-room layout with a loft. They are aligned from north-west to south-east and constructed from roughly coursed and dressed rubblestone blocks, which are rendered and painted on the gable ends. The cottages have slate roofs and each includes three-light windows with slate cills on either side of a slightly offset entrance. There are integral end stacks and a shared ridge stack located centrally between the two cottages. Additional windows on the gable ends provide light to the lofts, and there are catslide lean-tos at the rear.
The cottages belong to a group of two. Notably, the cottages have 20th-century windows flanking a 20th-century panelled door with an integral fanlight. One of the integral end stacks has been removed, and there is a large 20th-century extension at the rear. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
