Description

Nook Antiques is a two-storey building group with a single window design, located on a site that appeared on John Wood’s 1834 map. The buildings underwent alterations in the 19th century when New Street was constructed. The frontages are made of rubble, with No 22 being white-washed. They feature slate roofs and later chimney stacks, with No 22 constructed of red brick. The windows include 8 and 12-pane sash windows. No 18 has three-light shop windows with cornices on both the High Street and New Street sides, along with cellar openings below. The entrance features a half-glazed door located on the splayed corner. No 20 has a modern panelled door, while No 22 has a glazed door. The left end is rendered, and the rear has been modernised, including an attic dormer for No 20. There is a six-panel door numbered 20 in the roadside boundary wall.
