Description

Pont-y-pandy is a bridge constructed from local rubble stone. It features a segmental arch made with flush voussoirs, supported by twice offset buttresses, and includes a horizontal string course between the tops of the buttresses. The span of the arch is approximately 3.5 meters, rising about 1.9 meters, and the carriageway is 4 meters wide between the parapets, which are 1.2 meters high and 30 centimeters thick. The inner side of the parapets is rendered and they extend as parapets along the causeway on either side.
