Description
Ysgubor Gerrig is a building constructed from large local boulders and stone rubble, with some areas rendered. It features a slate roof and pebble-dashed end-wall stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a two-unit plan with an entrance offset to the dwelling. To the right is a lower former cow-house that aligns with the main structure.
The dwelling has a boarded door, which is flanked by 12-pane sash windows on the ground floor, while the upper floor features three 4-pane sash windows set in small gabled dormers. The former cow-house has a doorway towards the center, which consists of a glazed door with an external boarded shutter, but it originally appeared to be windowless, with a large inserted window in the gable end.
The house retains its two-unit plan, although the partition is recent and may have been relocated. The principal fireplace is located in the left-hand (uphill) room. The roof has two collar trusses, both showing signs of reconstruction or reuse. The former cow-house has a similar truss, but it is constructed more crudely and also exhibits signs of reconstruction.
