Description
The sundial base at the Parish Church of St Mor is made of sandstone and features a baluster form with a square section and a bulbous base. It stands on a square slatestone plinth that is roughly dressed, reaching a height of approximately 1.2 meters. The base is moulded but has been damaged and includes an iron reinforcing band. The top of the sundial is also moulded and is inscribed with the date 1747, along with the initials of the churchwardens, including 'T.E.' The baluster shows significant wear and evidence of past use for knife sharpening. The original sundial, likely made of brass, is no longer present; instead, the base is topped with an incised stone dial that is missing its gnomon.
