Description
Ffinfa is a two-storey L-plan estate cottage built from pink squared rubble stone, topped with slate roofs and featuring brick end stacks. The design includes picturesque details that are similar to, but subtly different from, the nearby Cae Gwyn. The front of the building has a large gable on the right, which showcases arch-bracing and a king-post in the bargeboards. On the first floor, there are two long plate-glass sash windows with stone voussoirs. The ground floor features a large hipped-roofed canted bay, flanked by pilasters and narrow sidelights, with a broad four-pane front light. Fretted brackets support the cornice above.
To the left on the ground floor, there is a pair of casement windows next to a panelled door with an overlight, and a close-spaced window and door. Above this, the eaves are broken by a timber overhanging oriel supported by two shaped brackets, which contains a triple casement window and has a hipped roof. The west side wall is hung with slate and features a chimney gable on the left and a short rear wing on the right. The east side has a large two-storey projecting addition with a canted hipped slate roof. This bay is canted and includes pilasters between the sash windows, with cornices above each floor and an upper cornice under the eaves.
