Description
Dolafon is a hotel built in a mildly Gothic style and consists of three storeys. The exterior is made of snecked rubblestone with painted returns and features a floorband at the first floor. It has bracketed string courses and slightly projecting bargeboarded gables that are tile hung at the apexes, topped with a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical facade with three bays, preserving its original windows.
The second floor features 10-light mullioned and transomed windows in the gables, with a central tile-hung gabled dormer in the roof slope that has a 4-paned sash window. On the first floor, the outer bays have triple sash windows set in chamfered stone surrounds, while the central window consists of five grouped sashes with tiny rectangular openings above, located directly below the bracketed eaves.
The ground floor has paired sash windows with chamfered heads and stone cills in the centre, flanked by a window similar to those on the first floor's outer bays to the right, and a canted bay window with sashes and a chamfered stone surround to the left. The entrance is located to the left, accessed through a gabled stone porch that has a hoodmould over the outer arch and an inner boarded door. There is a single-storey section at the back that now has a flat roof. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
