Description
Tyddyn Isaf is a two-storey farmhouse that includes a single-storey stable and a lofted cartshed range attached to the right (east) end. The building is constructed of rubble masonry, with the farmhouse being limewashed, while the stable and cartshed range features mortar that is widely slobbered. The roof is slate, with tiled coping and gable stacks; the left (west) stack is a large squat stack with capping, while the right (east) stack is smaller and rendered. The right gable of the cartshed has stone coping.
The farmhouse has a two-window layout with a doorway in between, and the openings are offset to the right (east). The windows are horizontally sliding sashes with slate sills; the ground floor windows have unequal sashes with 9 panes, while the first-floor windows have 12 panes and are positioned directly under the eaves. The former roofline is clearly visible in the masonry at the left (west) gable.
At the right (east) end, the stable and cartshed range consists of two stables on the left and a single cartshed on the right. The stables have boarded doors with windows to the left, and all openings feature slate lintels. The cartshed has a wide doorway with a cambered head made of rough stone voussoirs and a loft with two windows set under the eaves.
