Description

The Limekiln at Lledwigan is an early to mid 19th-century structure featuring battered walls made of coursed, roughly-dressed local stone. It is situated against a rising hillside to the northwest. The southeast wall of the kiln has two elliptically-arched draw hole vaults. The left vault includes an extrados dripcourse and has a central doorway that is partially bricked in. The right vault features both intrados and extrados dripcourses, with its opening partially filled in, possibly with rendered brickwork, and the doorway is offset to the left.
