Description

The Lime Workings at Wairdlaw, built in 1827, is a rectangular block featuring two simple draw-kilns, each with a barrel-vaulted access tunnel. The structure is constructed from whinstone rubble, with dressed squared sandstone used for the tunnels and the long and short quoins. The kilns are currently infilled. The overall frontage measures 50 feet, with a height of 27 feet. The vents are 12 feet wide, and the infilled kilns have a diameter of approximately 14 feet.
