Cathlaw House is an 18th-century traditional building that stands two and a half storeys tall. The exterior is harled, featuring skew-gabled elements, a slated roof, and a chimney gablet along with gabled dormers. The structure includes band-courses and has a porch. There is a lower addition at the eastern end and a rear wing.
