Description
This is a bridge, constructed around 1820 as part of the Union Canal. The engineer was Hugh Baird. It features a segmental arch constructed with coursers and slab copings. Numbers are inscribed on the keystones. The Union Canal is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, designated as SAM No. 4170 on 15 December 2003. The bridge’s statutory address is Union Canal Bridge 22, at Learielaw.
