Description

This is a canal bridge, likely dating from around 1820, engineered by Hugh Baird. It features a segmental arch constructed with stone courses and slab copings. Numbers are inscribed on the keystones. The Union Canal, of which this bridge is a part, is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, recorded as SAM No. 4170 and scheduled on 15 December 2003. The bridge is located near Lin’s Mill.
