Description
The Almond Aqueduct, built circa 1820 by engineer Hugh Baird, carries the Union Canal over the River Avon, near Linn's Mill. It is located approximately half within Kirkliston Parish, Midlothian. The aqueduct comprises five semi-circular arches, constructed with dressed voussoirs and rock-faced piers. The structure is of stone, with iron railings along the parapet.
