Description
The Maconochies of Meadowbank burial enclosure is located within Kirknewton Burial Ground. Dating to the 17th or 18th century, it is an oblong structure built of random rubble, with a rear wall of ashlar. Originally roofed, it is now open to the elements, although a broken pediment remains, inset above the doorway. The interior is overgrown. It served as the burial place of the Maconochies of Meadowbank (formerly Camballs of Inverness, Argyll) from 1662 until 1790.
