(Villa 19), Dormitory Block, Bangour Village Hospital

The Dormitory Block at Bangour Village Hospital, also known as Villa 19, was designed by Hippolyte J Blanc and constructed between 1898 and 1906. This two-storey building features breaking-eaves dormers and has an asymmetrical layout with 10 by 8 bays, showcasing a restrained Scots Renaissance style. It is located within a large rural hospital complex and is built from roughly coursed and snecked sandstone, accented with contrasting red sandstone ashlar margins. The building includes a base course, round-arched dormer heads, and some bi-partite windows. There is a single-storey block to the east and a later full-height extension to the north.

On the south (principal) elevation, there is an off-centre two-bay gabled section with a four-light canted window at the ground level, which features a blocking course. To the far left, an advanced gabled bay has another canted four-light window at the ground. To the left of this advanced bay is a moulded doorpiece that originally held an entrance door. The far right side has a single-storey block with an additional moulded doorpiece and entrance door.

Some of the windows are boarded up, and the upper sashes of the timber sash and case windows predominantly feature a six-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates and decorative red ridge tiles, and there are wallhead and gable stacks along with raised skews. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 2011.
