(Villa 8), Dormitory Block, Bangour Village Hospital

The Dormitory Block at Bangour Village Hospital, also known as Villa 8, was designed by Hippolyte Blanc and constructed between 1898 and 1907. This two-storey building features a roughly L-shaped plan and is designed in a restrained Scots Renaissance style. It has a gabled roof and breaking-eaves dormers, with a layout consisting of six by four bays. The exterior is made of painted roughly coursed and snecked sandstone, accented with contrasting ashlar margins and alternate quoins. It includes a base course and a cornice, with round-arched dormer heads and shouldered gables, some of which have small slit window openings at the apex. The building has some bipartite windows and a canted window on the ground floor to the west.

To the east, there is a flat-roofed extension with an advanced flat-roofed windowed bay on the ground floor to the left. Some windows are boarded, while others mainly feature 12- and 8-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slates and has decorative red ridge tiling, along with raised skews and plain skewputts. Ridge stacks are also present. The interior was not seen during the last assessment in 2011.
