Description

Hippolyte J. Blanc, begun 1898, completed 1907, and Scott and McIntosh, 1972. 2-storey with breaking-eaves dormers, 5- by 4-bay, gabled, restrained Scots Renaissance style hospital villa with later, 1972, 2-bay extension to W. Rendered sandstone with contrasting ashlar margins and alternate quoins. Base course, cornice; raised margins. Pedimented and round-headed dormer heads. Bipartite windows to S elevation. 1972 extension; brick with concrete render.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical 5-bay section to left with advanced gabled ends. 4-light canted windows to ground at outer bays. Single-storey linking corridor to later 2-bay extension.

Some windows boarded. Others predominantly with 12- and 8-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Red roof tiles with decorative ridge tiling. Raised skews with plain skewputts. Ridge stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen (2011).
