Description

Dated 1725, the Philpstoun Dovecot is an oblong, harled building with a lean-to, slated roof and crowstepped gables. The date '1725' is carved above the east entrance, and the initials 'I.D./E.D.' appear above the west entrance. The dovecot was built for John Dundas, Advocate, who married Euphaim Dundas, heiress of Philipstoun. The interior contains two chambers with nest holes.
