Cream sandstone rubble, ashlar coped. W wall with boarded gate midway up Kirkgate; single cast-iron gate to Palace lodge between wall and Palace gateway. E wall, low wall with gateway to St Michael's church between Palace gateway and wall, to right series of plaques tracing

line of descent from Mary Queen of Scots to the present monarch along wall.
