Description
The Almondell Bridge, built around 1800, is a significant example of early 19th-century engineering designed by Alexander Nasmyth. The bridge features a single wide segmental arch, accompanied by a smaller arch to the north. It is constructed using coursed stone with rock-faced voussoirs. A castellated parapet sits atop the structure, with slab coping resting on square piers in the centre. Located partly in Uphall, West Lothian, the bridge is positioned on an avenue leading to Almondell House. The statutory address is Almondell Bridge, River Almond.
