18 Main Street, Renton

20 and 22 Main Street in Renton are a pair of terraced houses built in the earlier 19th century. They feature ashlar stone with ashlar margins and dressings, while the side elevations are rendered in cement. The windows are positioned directly under the eaves, which have a cornice.

On the main elevation, No. 20 has a two-bay ground floor with a third segmental-headed bay to the left of the door. It has a narrow boarded door with a letterbox fanlight and a plate glass timber sash and case window to the outer right. There are two windows symmetrically placed on the first floor. No. 22 has a three-bay ground floor and a four-bay upper floor. It features a corniced and pilastered doorcase with a four-panelled door and a two-pane letterbox fanlight. The ground floor has four symmetrically arranged windows with ashlar cills.

The ground floor windows of No. 22 are four-pane timber sash and case windows, while the upper floor has six-lying-pane windows over plate glass timber sash and case windows. No. 20 has modern PVC top-hopper windows. The houses have a modern pantile roof, and the chimney stacks have been removed.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The boundary wall consists of a low rubble plinth wall that is terminated by square piers with pyramidal caps.
